Many people that seek one-to-one tuition are looking to heal in some way: this work develops a deep relationship with the intelligent natural healing mechanisms of the body and supports a self healing journey.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, unease, depression and many different expressions of physical imbalance and disease. Often the road to self healing involves befriending our nervous system and coming into a deeper relationship with ourselves . We explore together somatic practices, fascia and repatterning work, yoga and pranyayama , a unique “for you” synthesis of somatic practices to bring you to an experience of safety and greater understanding.
Without engaging in talking therapy we work gradually and in many ways together, I point towards possibilities through open inquiry and hold space while you are engaged in the work.
It can be interesting to explore somatic practice as a compliment to therapy, to build your own resources and sense of autonomy.

Breath sensing and awareness is an important part of one on one work. Our breath is the big revealer to our internal landscape and our unique relationship with life itself. Life is choosing to express itself through us from moment to moment through the breathing process and yet within that wonderful exchange we can experience resistance, holding patterns, anxiety, grasping and unease.
In somatic breath practice we explore, learn and unravel, we listen deeply to the whispers within the breath so that we can develop an intimacy with the breathing process.
I facilitate very much from the middle of my own direct experience with inherited and complex respiratory sensitivity. I have developed an approach that blends a somatic lens to traditional pranayama with a knowledge of the physiology of breathing derived from training in Butyeko and Oxygen Advantage methods.
Embodied anatomy , sound,touch movement and fascia work all interweave to release the breath from imposition and unhelpful habits.
I have had a continuous motivation out of necessity to keep nurturing and inquiring into the intricacies of breath as a means to understanding of self. From this experience I developed the being breathed 40 hour in depth training for teachers and therapists.

Peri-Menopause and beyond
A more recent area of exploration for me. As I began to recognize within my own body a diverse range of symptoms associated with the menopause. I found that I was increasingly struggling with my unfamiliar and changing body and mind and that the kind of information I was seeking, that resonated with my experience was not readily available. I undertook a 40 hour training and began to delve further into personal study which lead me among other things to study the pelvis and the many stories our pelvis has to tell us as women.
Supporting women through somatic practice, pelvic health and exploration, shared experience and conversation, is at the center of the Way of Woman days and retreats and in one on one work it takes very much the same format where we explore your individual experience and work with that to find practices that support you and empower you so you can experience menopause as a time rich with new possibility.
As well as exploring practices, we chat nutrition, hrt and natural options and I share with you a bunch of well researched resources, you are invited to join our way of women whats app group to connect with a wonderful bunch of supportive women who are all at various stages of the journey.
